July 21st, 2006

I didn't make it to Seattle this weekend for the show; I opted to stay here in Oregon and catch up on some work at home. I am still kind of wiped out after Wheaton, so the potential of doing well in Seattle was pretty low. Maybe next year Seattle! Portland and Vegas are coming up, and I am still planning on attending those, so hopefully I'll meet some of you there.

The Available Page is stocked up with about 8 new marbles and 4 new marble display stands that I am proud to release. They are all unique, and all have matching marbles included. If you don't like what I picked for the pair, you are free to choose anything else on the page, or buy the stand seperately if you have something at home that would match perfectly. Take a look and if you have a minute, let me know what you think. •N8•

I just returned from the Wheaton Village Marble show in NJ, and it was GREAT! Pictures are coming soon. The next show I'll be attending and vending is the IAMC Marble show in Tukwila Washington on July 19-21st. Until then I will be listing a whole group of new work, so stay tuned the next couple of weeks! - •N8•

This contest has officially ended! Congratulations to Andrew Moch, the big winner of the Window Series Marble #3. Thanks to everyone for playing!

Currently another one of my marbles is up for grabs in an online contest at Glasswurx.com! It's a Glass Trivia Question Style contest that just begun and ends on May 14th, 2006. The only requirement for entering is being a Glasswurx member, so if you are a member and haven't entered, you still have time, and if you aren't a member, you can sign up now and still be eligible to enter the contest. More information on the contest can be found here: http://glasswurx.com/contest.php Good Luck! •N8•

There is currently a FREE MARBLE SCAVENGER HUNT going on my glassartists.org gallery. It's easy and fun, and there is one sweet marble up for grabs (Twisted Window #3!). I am accepting entries until May 10th, so there isn't much time left if you haven't entered already. Good Luck!

You can now get official EyeCandyArts.com Apparel. I have started a cafepress.com store for Eye Candy Arts. You can now buy T-shirts and other apparel with the ECA logo. New designs will be released occasionally - and good ideas will be generously rewarded! I have purchased a few of each items with each design to make sure the quality is good, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. All shirts are Hanes brand, and the printing is durable and long-lasting, even after multiple washes. These are not transfers. You can read more about the actual garments in the individual product descriptions. This is how it works - CafePress gives me a base price, and then the opportunity to mark each item up a specified percentage. I have only raised the price on each item by either by $1 or $2 to hopefully bring in the $6 a month it takes to run the store. I really like how this works because I don't have to pay anything up front to invest in, and actually stock the inventory. Let me know what you think!

3 NEW marbles on eBay: A nice Dichro Galaxy, a Twisted Vortex, and another cane marble for the Benefit4Kids program. Get in on the action before it's too late!

Eight new marbles have been recently added to my glasswurx.com gallery. - check them out if you haven't been there lately. Glasswurx has a reputation of treating their artists very well, so if you happen to see something you like there, buy with confidence.

I recently sent Bert Cohen 10 of my best and brightest marbles yet, and they will soon be available at his wonderful website, MarbleBert.com . He has a stunningly large collection, and I am very proud to become a part of it. If you frequent his site, be sure keep your eyes peeled for my work - it should all be online by the end of May.

You can now order custom made marbles from Landofmarbles.com! I've recently started working with the Land of Marbles website. I currently offer a selection of three styles to choose from, but there will be more added eventually. Be sure to check it out next time you're surfing the web.

I've started my Spring/Summer travels; from vending at marble shows to doing demo's and teaching workshops, and collaborations with with other artists, you can now stay up-to-date by checking my online calendar. I've added a permanent link to the Events page at the top of the News page, and I will add more links throughout the site eventually as well.

Until next time... •N8•

March 16th , 2006
I'm in Southern California (in Granada Hills) at a Marble Show for the weekend. I will return Wednesday, the 22nd of March. I will put the shopping cart as soon as I return, and I will also be releasing about a dozen new marbles for sale at that time as well. Have a great weekend! •N8•

March 7th , 2006

Alright!!! It's almost spring time, and that means travel time again. I'll be traveling a lot this summer; to marble shows, doing demo's and workshops, to work with other artists. To see what events I'll be at this year, you can now stay up-to-date by checking online. Who knows, I might even be traveling to an event in your state! I've added a permenant link at the top of this page, and I will probably add more links throughout the site eventually as well.

A quick note that the Image Gallery has been tweaked again. It's now broken up into a few seperate pages for easir viewing, and hopefully it loads faster now for those of you on dial-up.

On the auction and sales front, I have a whole bunch of new marbles I just made available for purchase. There are 3 new eBay auctions as well as 9 new marbles at the Available Page. I recently sent in some new marbles for my Glasswurx.com gallery, so check them out if you haven't been there in a few weeks. Also, I'd like to add a little note that I will be submitting about a dozen marbles to Bert Cohen's magnificent collection sometime towards the end of the month. I'm really excited to get the chance to work with Bert, so if you frequent his site, keep your eyes peeled for some of my work.

Oh yea, one more thing. March 31 marks the 1 year anniversary of eyecandyarts.com! Looks like I'm going to have to plan some suprises!

Well, that's all I have to report for now. Thanks for checking in! •N8•

3 new marbles have been added to the available page today, and 3 new marbles are going up on eBay today also. When you stop at the available page to see the new unique items I have added, be sure look at the top right of the page for the Glasswurx.com logo. If you click on the link/image it will take you to the marbles and jewelry I now have available there too. Glasswurx.com is known for treating artists well, so you can buy my glass art from them with confidence. I am looking forward to working with them more in the future.

I recently sent off material for publication in Del Morgan's and the Marble Collectors Unlimited's latest project "A PICTORIAL EXPLORATION OF CONTEMPORARY ART GLASS MARBLES"
---
It's a book that will offer the opportunity for artists to tell the collecting world a little about themselves while also showing them many of the amazing creations they have made. The goal is to create a book dedicated to contemporary art glass marbles unlike any other that has been produced. Some very important aspects to this book will be the personalized biographies by each artist, a section on tracking and caring for your contemporary art glass marbles, a photographed reference of the signatures used by the artist to assist the collector in identification as well as safeguarding the artists from forged pieces. Another highlight that is expected to really set this book apart will be the Collector Spotlight section of the book. This area will bring recognition to some of the collectors in the hobby that have made it possible for the artists and hobby to thrive.
---
I think this is a great idea, and I can't wait to see what develops. It should be ready by this Nov/Dec.

We have recently added some cold working equipment to our shop, such as a lapidary wheel, and soon to arrive is a sand blaster. These new tools will allow further innovation and exploration of my art. You can see the first few projects here... <1> <2> <3> This could get interesting so keep checking back! •N8•

My eyes hurt from all the Website work I've been doing lately...lol. New eBay auctions, and the gallery is up to date after adding about 20+ new marbles there. There will be More will be added steadily now that I have streamlined my process of getting the pictures to publishing everything online.

Also, if you go to the What's Available page, there are also about 15 new marbles that are available for immediate purchase via an updated and secure paypal shopping cart now located on the What's Available main page. There's stuff that hasn't been on eBay yet as well as some stuff that you probably have seen there already. This will change as new stock become available - The goal of this update is that I will be offering the marbles on my site for immediate purchase only, and keep using eBay, but for auctions only. There's no telling where a nice marble is going to debut first, but don't expect the site to become a holding tank for the stuff that doesn't sell on eBay.

I added a new page - www.eyecandyarts.com/ebay - type in that address from any computer and you will be automatically transferred to my eBay auction listing page on eBay's site. It's just easier to remember than http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZeyecandyarts and faster than going through either site manually searching for the link.

That's all for now, keep checking back as I'm always trying to add new features and stuff to the site. As always, send any suggestions to nathan@eyecandyarts.com. See you around! •N8•

January 1st , 2006
Happy New Year!!! One of my favorite parts about the new year is making a new signature for my artwork. I'll predictably and inevitably sign the first few marbles of the year 2005 still...lol. There are a few new eBay auctions going on right now with some stuff from the end of the year. New 2006 marbles are rolling in (pun intended) as I type. Please check out the new auctions and keep checking them all month for some new work.

If you haven't noticed yet, I have the Gallery completed and up to date finally. This was a major project, and some captions and other things are still kinda short and incomplete, but it's full of new pictures so be sure to check it out!

If you haven't signed up for the newsletter yet, please do so you don't miss the specials this month. You won't regret it! •N8•
